The Fishing committee closely monitors and studies the fish population in each of our lakes, assesses how well (or not) various breeds are doing, and makes recommendations about stocking options for the upcoming year. In addition, the committee evaluates the condition of the water and the presence lake vegetation (working in tandem with the Ecology committee), and also hosts various fishing events throughout the year where trophies are awarded for catches and urban myths about “big ones that got away” are spawned.

Ice Fishing Derby Canceled

The February 18th Ice Fishing Derby has been canceled due to the lack of ice.

Muskie Stocked in Main Lake

Fishing Chairman Michael Ewasko is pleased to report that 125 True Minnesota Strain Muskellunge fingerlings in the 8″ to 10″ size, trucked from Oswald Fisheries in Ellendale, Minnesota, were released into our Main Lake on Tuesday, November 8th.
