Beach 1 reopens Wednesday, July 11 @ 9:30 am

Beach 1 will open Wednesday morning at 9:30 am. Swim lessons at Beach 1 will follow the regular schedule. Beach 1 was closed Monday afternoon due to a “toilet accident” in the water.

When a test result exceeds 200 fecal colonies per 100 milliliters (about 3.4 ounces), NJ Department of Health regulations require an immediate retest and the closure of pools, bathing beaches, etc. if the second test result exceeds the “safe” standard of 200. However, in the interest of bathing/swimming safety, Club policy is to immediately close a beach upon a testing failure, and to wait for the second test result before reopening. Club policy also calls for immediate closure of beaches when a “fecal event” in the water occurs.

Monday’s testing results at all of the Club’s beaches and the swim lanes were also satisfactory.
