Canistear Road work begins July 24 – travel delays expected

Vernon Township begins its work along the northern portion of Canistear Road on Tuesday, July 24. Pavement milling and resurfacing will take place, with traffic control provided by the Vernon Township Police Department. The project is expected to last approximately three weeks.

Work will be underway generally between the hours of 7 am – 5 pm, weather permitting. Traffic in the work areas will be limited to one lane of travel, and access from Club roads intersecting Canistear Road may be temporarily blocked as the work progresses. Residents should take alternate routes when this occurs, and are encouraged to use CR 638 (Highland Lakes Road) and CR 515 South for access to Route 23 during construction hours.
