Child Safety Day – Sun., Sept. 30, 10 am – 2 pm (rain or shine)
The Club is pleased to present Child Safety Day this coming Sunday, September 30, in cooperation with the Vernon Police Department, Vernon Township Ambulance Squad, and Highland Lakes Fire Department. The event will be held rain or shine in the club parking lot from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.
Police officers from Vernon and surrounding towns will be on hand to ensure the proper installation of child safety seats, to replace defective seats free of charge, and to answer questions you may have about child safety. If you have the owner’s manual for your vehicle and/or the manual for your child’s seat, please bring them with you (though it is not required) to assist the officers with any unusually challenging car seat installations.
Children are invited to tour an ambulance (provided by our local ambulance squad) and to get behind the wheel of a fire truck (provided by our local fire department). Children can also receive instruction on how to exit a burning building thanks to the fire department’s “smoke house,” which will be on site, as well.
Snacks and games will be provided in the Clubhouse by Clubhouse Committee volunteers between the hours of 11 am – 2 pm.
We wish to thank the volunteers from the police departments, ambulance squad and fire department for graciously giving of their time.
