New Pickleball Season Begins

Pickleball officially opened for play on the last weekend of April. On Sunday morning, May 5 interested members met again from 9 am to 11 am on the utility court at Beach 1. Although there was wind to contend with, there was a lot of action for the little yellow ball with the holes in it. Knox and Ed Strube thought their skills from last year might be rusty. Dori Zarr was of the opinion that they had only improved. “Ed’s serve was steady and Knox sent killer shots across the net with her Vortex paddle and left forehand slice,” Dori reported. “Tom Burke and I brought a new Prolite paddle for Keith McCotter and his son, Will, to evaluate, but in the end it didn’t seem to matter what they played with; both father and son were on every shot with speed and agility,” she said.

Come out and try our newest, Highland Lakes family sport. It’s easy to learn and provides both exercise and fun for various ages. Call Dori at 201-602-8339 with any questions you may have about the game or the season schedule. More information about Highland Lakes pickleball is available here.
