Beach 4 on the Main Lake and Beach 7 on Lake 5 reopen Saturday, July 13

Beach 4 and Beach 7 will reopen Saturday, July 13 after satisfactory testing results were received Friday evening from Garden State Laboratories, Inc. In retesting conducted on Thursday, July 11, three samples were taken at each of these beaches (one sample is required) in order to determine with certainty that no bathing safety issues were presented. All six samples taken at these two beaches on Thursday yielded results of less than 10 fecal colonies, well below the state’s standard of 200 or less.

Tests conducted on Tuesday, July 9 yielded a count of 280 at Beach 4 and 3,900 at Beach 7.  Results of these tests were received Thursday morning, July 11, and both beaches were closed Thursday and Friday.

While New Jersey bathing beach regulations require beaches and pools to close if two consecutive samples exceed the 200 colonies standard, the Club closed both of these beaches in the interest of swimmer safety.
