Volunteers Honored for Hours of Service

Recently over seventy young adults were recognized for their volunteer efforts in our community. You will find them listed on page 2 of the August 17 edition of the Newsette. On Friday, August 23 hundreds of adults will be honored in the same fashion for the volunteer hours they have devoted to the Club this year.

The volunteer opportunities in our community abound regardless of your age or interests. Young adults can be found throughout the summer helping out with baseball teams, at tennis practice, at clubhouse activities, swim team or participating in the planning of special events. Similarly, adults are found helping out with every sport that is offered at the Lake, are actively engaged in committee work, and many through the years have served as a section trustee or as an officer of the board.

Having a busy life outside of these activities does not seem to stop the ardent volunteers in our community. Thank goodness for that! Where would we be without the thousands who have, through the course of our community’s lifetime, devoted themselves so selflessly? The Lake just wouldn’t be the same.

All are welcome to join in at any time. If you would like to learn more about a committee’s work or any activity offered, simply join the group or contact the person in charge. There’s always room for another set of helping hands.
