Child Seat Safety Day on Sunday, October 20, 2013 – 10 am to 2 pm
Highland Lakes Security invites all members with children to join us on Sunday for Child Seat Safety Day. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration provides comprehensive information about child safety seats. This October 11, 2013 report in the New York Times identifies the difficulties parents face in properly installing child safety seats.
Police officers from Vernon and surrounding communities, Sheriff’s officers, along with fire department and ambulance squad volunteers, will be in the Clubhouse parking lot on Sunday for Child Safety Day. Vehicles will be checked for the proper installation of child safety seats, and defective seats will be replaced free of charge (supplies are limited). Officers will demonstrate the proper installation of child safety seats and answer any questions you may have. Make sure you bring your vehicle’s owner’s manual.
Children will be able to tour the ambulance and get behind the wheel of a fire truck!
