Enjoy Fall Foliage by Foot
Another hike led by the Highland Lakes Hiking Club is scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM on Sunday, November 10. All interested in participating should meet at the clubhouse. This month’s hike will traverse a moderate five mile segment of the Appalachian Trail from Barrett Road to Highland Lakes. Hikers are encouraged to pack a lunch as time will be taken to enjoy a picnic at a panoramic viewpoint overlooking Vernon Valley.
Anyone capable of hiking at least five miles at a steady, moderate pace is welcome. Hikers may bring their well-behaved dogs, which must be on a leash whenever we walk on a roadway. In addition to packing a lunch, please remember to bring water and wear appropriate hiking shoes.
