Snow Storm Information – February 12th

Late Wednesday, February 12th, the National Weather Service estimated 14″ to 18″ of snow in Highland Lakes beginning overnight and continuing through Friday morning. The Club office will be closed on Thursday, February 13th due to the storm.

Vernon Township supplies Highland Lakes and the other private communities throughout Vernon with salt and grits. As television news and newspapers have reported, the shortage of salt and grits is real – Vernon Township has minimal supplies on hand, and has been able to supply Highland Lakes and all others with a reduced amount of material. There is a sufficient quantity of material on hand to address priority areas such as hills, intersections, etc. Please keep in mind that storms do change, and any icing will greatly tax the available supplies throughout Vernon and elsewhere, including Highland Lakes. Post-storm cleanup with de-icing material will be compromised, and our priority will continue to be the hills and intersections throughout our community.

We urge you to please stay off the roads during and immediately after the storm. Please stay safe while we all work through this significant storm event.
