Community Events Enjoyed by Many

A St. Patrick’s Day celebration came early to Highland Lakes in the form of another successful meal hosted by the clubhouse committee on Sunday, March 9. Here’s what one member of our community had to say about the event:

I ended up partaking in the delicious buffet and merriment on Sunday.  I have to tell you that it was a happy and fairly raucous crowd.  I arrived shortly after 5 to a long line-up at the admission taker. …the kitchen kept up and there was enough food, desserts and ice (equally important) for all.  Having never been to a St. Patrick’s feed, I was genuinely impressed by the efficiency and cheerfulness of the volunteers to accommodate everyone.  At the end, the DJ got on the mic to thank everyone for coming — and said this was for sure the biggest crowd they’d ever seen!

Don’t worry if you missed the feast. There is another celebration just around the corner thanks to this hard-working, enthusiastic group of volunteers. This Sunday morning the doors of the clubhouse will be open from 9-11:30 and the smell of bacon, sausage, eggs and other delights will beckon you to join your neighbors for a down-home breakfast.

The following Saturday night the Cabin Fever Dance and Social begins at 7:30 pm to live music and a celebration that with any luck will mark the end to this long, cold and snowy winter. Check the Highland Lakes Newsette for the details of these and other activities.
