Highland Lakes

The Highland Lakes community celebrates its 55th consecutive art show, starting with a professional artist exhibit and reception on Saturday evening, August 23, and concluding with an amateur artists art and craft show on Sunday, August 24. Participation in the professional show is through prearrangement (closed for 2014) and space is limited. All members of HLCC and CA are invited to be part of this long standing art tradition. Traditionally over 200 pieces of original work representing a vast array of art media are entered by Highland Lakes members of all ages.

Our “Meet the Artists” reception is on Saturday, August 23 from 6 pm – 9 pm in the Club’s Lake Room. All Highland Lakes members and their guests are invited to this event, which since it began has always been well attended and well received.

In preparation for the professional exhibit and “Meet the Artists” reception, artists register and hang their work on Saturday morning, August 23 in the Lake Room between 9:30 am and 11:30 am.

The Art and Craft Show on Sunday, August 24 invites all members in every age group to compete. Registration is on the veranda of the Clubhouse from 9 am to 10:30 am. Doors will be closed for judging from 10:30 am until 1:30 pm.

Both the amateur and professional shows are open to Highland Lakes members and the general public for viewing from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. Awards are announced at the conclusion of the show. Awards are given at 3:30 pm.
