Breakneck Road Construction begins Tuesday, October 14th

The resurfacing project for Breakneck Road is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 14th, and run through Tuesday, October 21st, from 7 am until 5 pm. During this time, Breakneck Road will be closed to all through traffic between CR515 and CR638 (Highland Lakes Road) and may be closed during the overnight hours and on the weekend as well.

Those living in the areas between those two roads should expect to be rerouted via a detour which may significantly impact travel time. Access from Breakneck Road and Highland Lakes Road (CR638) to Alturas Road will be limited to local traffic only, delays can be expected, and alternate routes using either Amicalola Drive across from the Clubhouse or Lonaconing Road just east of the Clubhouse along Breakneck Road should be planned.

If you live on Breakneck Road and have no other way to get to and from your home access will be permitted. There may be no access to Breakneck Road from Pocasset Road, Tahama Road, Muscoda Road and Abricada Road. Anyone living on those streets would use Old Homestead Drive instead. Otherwise, the “Road Closed / Local Traffic Only” signs will be strictly enforced.

No school bus stops will be changed, though there may be slight delays. All school buses will be provided access to their normal bus stops.
