Tickets to two Concert Series events go on sale Sat., May 22
Tickets to two upcoming Concert Series events at the Clubhouse’s Seckler Stage — the Avalon Jazz Band, and famed singer/songwriter and folk rock guitarist Al Stewart — will go on sale tomorrow, Saturday, May 23, exclusively to members-in-good-standing and their guests.
On July 11, we’ll welcome the Avalon Jazz Band back for the third time to help us celebrate Bastille Day a little early. Anyone who’s been to either of their previous performances at the Clubhouse can tell you what to expect — charming Parisian jazz from the Zazou era, and lots of fun. If you weren’t able to see them the last two times they were here, make sure you don’t miss them this time around, the third time’s the charm. Tickets for members-in-good-standing and their guests are $20/ticket; tickets for non-members will be available at a later date TBD, if still available, for $25/ticket.
On Friday, July 31, the legendary singer/songwriter Al Stewart — yes, that Al Stewart — will perform at Seckler Stage. It’s not every day that you can walk down to our Clubhouse to enjoy a concert by a platinum-selling artist who’s also performing two sold-out shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall during his current tour, but that is how we do things in Highland Lakes. If you’re unfamiliar with some of Stewart’s timeless and inimitable hits, visit his website here, or give two of his most famous songs–“Year of the Cat” and “Time Passages” a listen. Tickets for members-in-good-standing and their guests are $30/ticket; tickets for non-members will be available at a later date TBD, if still available, for $35/ticket. (The May 25 issue of the Newsette mistakenly lists a higher ticket price.)
For those of you who were lucky enough to have seen the extraordinary Latin Jazz band Azucar at Seckler Stage back in early April, you’ll be happy to know we’re in the process of booking them for a return engagement in the late summer or early fall, and we’re also talking with other acts about playing here during the summer and fall, depending on the availability of the artists and the Clubhouse. We’ll provide updates here, on Facebook, and in future Newsettes as more information becomes available. Club members interested in receiving updates directly via email should contact us at concertseries@hlcc.org.
