Concert Series updates for July 11 and July 31
Don’t wait til the last minute to buy your tickets to next weekend’s swing band (Danny Bacher) or the great Al Stewart at the end of the month, tickets are moving quickly and you don’t want to be on the outside looking in!
We’re thrilled to announce that the incredible Danny Bacher and his Swing That Music All Star band to Seckler Stage on July 11. Bacher & his band pay homage to the Three Swingin’ Louis’: Louis Armstrong, Louis Jordan, and Louis Prima (with a little Sammy Davis Jr. thrown in for good measure), and they do so with flair, adding their own reverential touch to jazz classics that’ll lift the roof of the Clubhouse.
Bacher’s band includes Kris Kaiser on guitar, Jay Rodriguez (from Azucar) on sax, Arthur Baron on trombone, Dean Johnson on bass, and Victor Jones on drums. For tickets, go to the Club Office, or call (917) 232-2366; $20 for members-in-good-standing and their guests, $25 for non-members. Doors open at 7:00 pm, the show starts at 8:00 pm. The previously scheduled performance by Avalon Jazz on July 11 will be rescheduled for later in the summer or fall TBD.
And don’t forget: The great singer/songwriter and folk rock guitarist Al Stewart is coming to perform at Seckler Stage on July 31. You remember “Year of the Cat” and “Time Passages,” don’t you? Well, it’s that Al Stewart. Seriously, it’s not every day that you can walk down to our Clubhouse to enjoy a concert by a platinum-selling artist who’s also performing two sold-out shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall, but that is how the Concert Series rolls, and we encourage to you buy fast, and buy often, because tickets are selling and are now available to the general public.
