Concert Series event – Saturday, June 25 – Jay Rodriguez Returns
If you happened to miss Grammy-nominated jazz saxophonist/flutist Jay Rodriguez’s recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, his recent show at The Blue Note, and his two shows here last season (with Azucar and Danny Bacher), you’re in luck. Sugar Jay is returning to Seckler Stage on June 25, bringing his masterful music back to Highland Lakes as he leads his groove-based quintet through a social music stew of blues, funk, soul, and hip-hop.
Playing alongside Rodriguez (Groove Collective, Fred Wesley, Bernie Worrell, Prince) is drummer Damon Duewhite (Roberta Flack, Hugh Masakela), guitarist Billy Spaceman Patterson (Miles Davis, James Brown), organist Adam Klipple (Defunkt, Smokey Robinson), and percussionist Chuggy Carter (Donny Hathaway, Jon Hammond).
