Election News

The Annual Meeting is being held on August 21, 2016, and the elections cannot be conducted without your presence. A quorum of 5% of the members in good standing must be present before the Annual Meeting and elections can take place.

The following Officer candidates received their nominations from the Nominating Committee and will appear on the ballot:

2nd Vice President       Steve Amato

Treasurer                      Robert P. Hughes

Secretary                      Ellen Buchney

I would like to extend my appreciation to the members of the Nominating Committee – Tom Dolle, Ursula Fahmy, Steve Hastie, Chris Hollis, Tom Mulcahy, Judy Norton, and Rich Spoerl – for their important work.

Petitions for the office of Trustee have been received by the Elections Chairperson and the following candidates will appear on the ballot. As required by the By-Laws, these petitions were all received by August 1, 2016. The names of the candidates, and the sections they will represent if elected, are as follows:

The By-Laws permit members in good standing to be elected as Officers or Trustees even though their names are not on the ballot by having members write their names either on an Absentee Ballot or during the election at the Annual Meeting. If you wish to serve as an Officer or Trustee (you must reside in one of the five sections electing Trustees) on the Voting Board, you may be elected through the write-in process. Officer and Trustee candidates must have been a member in good standing since August 21, 2013.

Absentee Ballots will be available at the Club Office beginning Saturday, August 6. The Absentee Ballot must be received at the Club Office, either by mail or in person, with your validated 2016 Membership Card enclosed in the envelope provided, no later than 4 pm on Wednesday, August 17, 2016.

Elections will be held August 21 at the Annual Meeting. Make sure that you attend this meeting and that you have your 2016 Membership Card with you. If you have any questions, please call me at 973-764-1012.
