58th Annual Art Show – Saturday and Sunday, August 26 and 27, 2017
The Highland Lakes community celebrates its 58th consecutive art show this summer, starting with a professional artist exhibit and reception on Saturday evening, August 26, and concluding with an amateur artist art and craft show on Sunday, August 27. All members of HLCC and CA are invited to be part of this long standing tradition but participation in the professional show is through prearrangement (closed for 2017) and space is limited. Traditionally over 200 pieces of original work representing a vast array of art media are entered by members of all ages.
Our “Meet the Artists” reception is on Saturday, August 26, from 6 pm – 9 pm in the Club’s Lake Room. All Highland Lakes members and their guests are invited to this event, which has always been well attended and well received.
All members in every age group are invited to compete in the Art and Craft Show on Sunday, August 27. Registration is on the veranda of the Clubhouse from 9 am to 10:30 am. Doors will be closed for judging from 10:30 am until 2 pm. Both the amateur and professional shows are open to Highland Lakes members and the general public for viewing from 2 pm to 4 pm. Awards are announced at the conclusion of the show.
There will be a special category this year honoring the 40th Anniversary of “Star Wars.”
