Special Election for Section 3 Trustee – Sunday, September 17, 2017 12 pm to 2 pm
The election report delivered at the Annual Meeting on August 20, 2017, declared Patricia Thompson as the Trustee-elect for Section 3. However, a challenge was filed and, upon a recount, the results determined that a tie vote occurred between Judith Norton and Patricia Thompson.
Please take notice that there will be a special run-off election for Trustee for Section 3 on Sunday, September 17, 2017, at the Club office to decide the election. The polls will be open from 12 pm to 2 pm. The ballot will include only the two run-off candidates, Judith Norton and Patricia Thompson.
Members in good standing of Section 3 desiring to vote in absentia shall obtain an absentee ballot and a pre-addressed envelope addressed to the Chairperson of the Board of Elections from the Secretary of the Club at the Club office. You may obtain the ballot (and a replacement membership card if requested) beginning Friday, September 1, 2017, by stopping by the Club office, by calling and asking that one be sent to you, or by contacting the office providing the name of a person authorized to pick up the ballot for you. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 am to 4 pm, and on Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm.
The members shall complete the absentee ballot by designating the candidate of their choice and dating and signing the ballot. The ballot must be received by the Secretary of the Club at the Club office at least four days prior to the date of the election, which is Wednesday, September 13, 2017, not later than 4 pm, together with the member’s membership card. The Chair of the Board of Elections shall open the envelopes during the election and cast the absentee ballots for the designated candidates.
The votes will then be counted and the results will be reported to any members present at that time and will be published in the Newsette and on the Club bulletin board. The results will also be delivered to the Secretary of the Club and the Voting Board.
