UPDATED: Island Road reopens to traffic
January 16, 2018 – the work along Island Road has been completed and the road is now open to traffic. The closure for Wednesday, January 17 is unneeded and therefore cancelled.
January 13, 2018 – Construction to Close a Portion of Island Road – Tuesday, January 16 and Wednesday, January 17, 2018 – 7 am to 5 pm
Residents on the northernmost island serviced by Island Road have been notified that the road will be closed to vehicular traffic on Tuesday, January 16 between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm for a construction project involving the replacement of two deteriorated corrugated metal pipes. If necessary, the closure will be repeated on Wednesday, January 17 between the same hours. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Only the twelve homes on Island Road serviced by the two bridges are affected by this closure.
