Boat Launch Construction Update

Cold and wet weather has forced delays in finishing the new boat launch. The main lake, after being lowered three feet in the fall, has filled much more rapidly than projected due to abnormal precipitation. Under normal rain/snowfall the lake was expected to be full sometime between the end of April and mid-May. The lake has now been full and flowing over the spillway for about two weeks, some eight-ten weeks earlier than anticipated.

Current plans are to pour the concrete ramps and landings during the week of March 26, weather permitting. Allowing two weeks for the concrete to cure, the boat launch is expected to open to traffic Saturday, April 14. Note: smaller boats may be launched from Beach 3 beginning March 31, assuming the snow has disappeared.
