The Highland Lakes Voting Board is scheduled to conduct an abbreviated business meeting at 8 pm on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, in the Lake Room of the Clubhouse to take up items previously scheduled for the March 23 meeting that was cancelled.

Discussion is expected to include acceptance of the water quality proposal from Princeton Hydro, LLC for lake monitoring and consultation, including additional water chemistry testing in Lakes 1 (Beach 1) -and Lake 4 (Beach 5), authorization to begin implementation of a communications plan for a Carry-In/Carry-Out refuse management program at Club facilities in 2019, and installation of a new electric panel in the Clubhouse.

At the conclusion of the abbreviated business meeting, the Voting Board will hold its regular monthly Workshop meeting. Topics include the new NJ Department of Health’s requirement to provide AEDs (automatic external defibrillators at all locations staffed by lifeguards), a new rule prohibiting smoking at Club facilities, the upcoming auction of properties by Vernon Township and an emerging dispute over one property, distribution of the FY 2018 Capital Fund draft budget, developments related to reimbursements for snow plowing received from Vernon Township,

Attending board meetings and workshops is a great way for members to become knowledgeable about the issues that the Club faces, to gain an understanding of what various committees are working on and become acquainted with Voting Board Officers and the Trustees who represent the various sections of our community.
