Petitions for Trustee Positions Available

At this year’s Annual Meeting on August 19, 2018, elections will be held for full, three-year terms commencing October 1, 2018, for Trustee positions for Sections 2, 9, 10, and 11 (note: the Highland Lakes Newsette of June 30, 2018, incorrectly omits Section 2 and incorrectly includes Section 12).

In order for a candidate’s name for Trustee to be on the ballot, the candidate must reside in the section, be a property owner and have been a member in good standing for the three years immediately preceding the election. The candidate is required to file a petition with the Elections Chairperson containing five signatures from members in good standing in the section electing a Trustee. Petitions will be available at the Club Office only, Monday through Friday, 9 am to 4 pm, and on Saturdays, 10 am to 1 pm beginning July 5, 2018. The petition must be received at the Club Office at least twenty (20) days before the election, which means no later than 4 pm on Monday, July 30, 2018.

Once the petitions have been certified by the Elections Chairperson, Absentee Ballots will become available. The Absentee Ballot must be received at the Club Office, either by mail or in person, with your validated 2018 Membership Card enclosed in the provided envelope no later than Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at 4 pm.

Elections will be held at the Annual Meeting on August 19. Please make sure that you attend this meeting and that you have your 2018 Membership Card and badge with you.

Patrick McNulty, Elections Chairperson
