Petitions for Trustee and Officer Positions Available
At this year’s Annual Meeting on August 18, 2019, elections will be held for full, three-year terms commencing October 1, 2019, for the positions of President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary, as well as for Trustee positions for Sections 6, 7, 8, and 12.
In order for a candidate’s name for Trustee to be on the ballot, a petition must be filed with the Elections Chairperson containing five signatures from members in good standing in the section electing a Trustee. Petitions are available at the Club Office only, Monday through Friday, 9 am to 4 pm, and on Saturdays, 10 am to 1 pm. The petition must be received at the Club Office at least twenty (20) days before the election, which means no later than 4 pm on Monday, July 29, 2019.
The Nominating Committee is required to file its report of nominees for Officer positions not less than thirty days before the Annual Meeting. Members not nominated may have their names placed on the ballot by filing a petition with the Elections Chairperson containing the signatures of sixty (60) members in good standing. The petition must be received at the Club Office at least twenty (20) days before the election, which means no later than 4 pm on Monday, July 29, 2019.
Please note that candidates for Treasurer must have experience in the field of Accounting. The requirements for eligibility to serve the Club as either a Trustee or Officer are found in Article V – Officers and Trustees of the By-Laws.
Once the Nominating Committee report is received and the petitions have been certified by the Elections Chairperson, Absentee Ballots will become available. The Absentee Ballot must be received at the Club Office, either by mail or in person, with your validated 2019 Membership Card enclosed in the provided envelope no later than Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at 4 pm.
Elections will be held at the Annual Meeting on August 18. Please make sure that you attend this meeting and that you have your 2019 Membership Card and badge with you.
