Upstate concert at Seckler Stage this Friday, September 20

It’s hard to describe the genre that best encapsulates the sound that Upstate creates. The best summary we’ve read anywhere describes them as acoustic instruments melding together with three female vocalists to sound like “the Andrews Sisters fronting a band that swings with the dizzying drive of gypsy jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt.”

The septet is based in the Hudson Valley, and plays a broad range of music from every corner (and decade) of America’s musical heritage. They’re unlike anything you’ve ever heard before—go check out the band’s YouTube channel if you don’t want to take our word.

Tickets are still available in the Club office ($20 to members and their guests, $25 to non-members) in the Club Office, or purchase tickets online here. Doors will open at 7 p.m., and the show will start at 8 p.m. You’re free to bring your own food and beverages. Call the Club Office (973-764-4366) or 973-271-9780 for more information.
