LAST CALL: ALL boats on ALL docks must be removed by Sunday, October 13, 2019 / Boat Racks on the east side of Highland Lakes Must Be Vacated by Sunday, October 13, 2019

Members: your cooperation is needed as the Club prepares its docks for winter storage. Please do not hesitate in removing your boats from ALL DOCKS and ALL RACKS on the east side by October 13, 2019.

Boats Must Be Removed from ALL DOCKS
The deadline for boat removal from ALL docks is Sunday, October 13, 2019. October is the time for the Club’s maintenance crew to remove, relocate, and store the docks before cold weather and difficult lake conditions set in.

When a member’s boat is on the dock when Maintenance personnel arrive to relocate the dock:

  1. if the boat is identifiable, it will be transported to the member’s property;
  2. if the boat is not identifiable, it will be removed to storage;
  3. if transported to the member’s property, a boat removal special assessment of $100.00 will be charged;
  4. if transported to storage, a boat removal special assessment of $100.00 will be charged, together with a daily storage fee and a winter storage fee if unclaimed by December 15;
  5. if the removed boat occupied a space which was permanently assigned to the member (not marked with an OPEN tag), the assignment of the space will be FORFEITED.

Boats Must Be Removed from ALL STORAGE RACKS on the east side
This fall, boat racks on the eastern side of Highland Lakes will be inspected, relocated, and repaired as necessary. Therefore, ALL boats, canoes, kayaks, etc.  stored on boat racks on the eastern side of Highland Lakes (see locations below) must be removed by October 13, 2019. Once the racks and area are clear, any necessary maintenance and landscaping can be performed late in the fall and in the early spring.

F. TRANSPORT TO RESIDENCE, REMOVAL TO STORAGE, PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS: Boats, kayaks, windsurfers, etc. of members stored in violation of these Rules which can be identified will be returned to the member’s residence. Boats which cannot be identified shall be removed to storage. All boat removals will be subject to a special assessment of $100.00. A daily storage charge of $5.00, calculated from the date the boat was removed to storage up to December 15 will be imposed, when a special winter storage fee of $250.00 will then be imposed. After June 15, a disposal fee of $250.00 will be imposed. Boats may not be retrieved between December 15 and April 15. The Club may, in its sole discretion, elect to acquire title to any boat that has been determined to be abandoned, in compliance with the “Abandoned Vessels Disposition Law,” N.J.S.A. 12:7C-7 et seq.
