ALICE Recovery Fund – An Important Message from the United Way
Please spend a few minutes reading this message from the United Way.
Dear Friend:
In less than a week, our ALICE Recovery Fund heard from nearly 500 households who need help affording the basics. We know that number will only continue to grow.
For ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) households and those in poverty, life was already a financial struggle even before the pandemic hit. Now, more than ever, ALICE needs our help.
ALICE needs help keeping the heat on, paying rent, and buying diapers.
ALICE needs internet access so a child can learn from home.
ALICE needs help paying for costly medications and ongoing therapies.
ALICE needs enough food to eat more than one meal a day.
As applications continue to come in, help us address this unprecedented need by donating at UnitedWayNNJ.org/ALICErecovery.
- Become a first-time Fund donor. Consider donating a portion of your stimulus check or the money you’ve saved by working from home to the ALICE Recovery Fund.
- Donate again. Thank you for your previous donation. Please consider another gift to support our neighbors who are struggling.
Together, with your support through the ALICE Recovery Fund, we can give these households what they need most right now — a fighting chance.
With deepest gratitude,
Kiran Handa Gaudioso
CEO, United Way of Northern New Jersey
P.S. If you know someone throughout the Fund’s six-county footprint who is struggling, they can apply at UnitedWayNNJ.org/ALICEassistance. We encourage households to continue to submit their applications. We will process requests in the order they were received, as additional funding becomes available.
