July 8: Algae Treatment Scheduled – East Highland (Indian) Lake
Depending on the weather, an algae treatment by Solitude Lake Management is scheduled for Wednesday, July 8 or Thursday, July 9. Supplemental algae samples were obtained and analyzed on July 6 to determine the course of action. Once the treatment is completed, conditions are expected to improve over 48 hours. No swimming restrictions are required after treatment.
The lack of rainfall, the intensity of rainfall when it occurs, the mild winter, better-than-average late spring clarity, and warm temperatures are all factors contributing to difficult lake management conditions.
