2022 HLCC Summer Athletic News – Sign Up Info & Reminders

Hello Sports Fans,

The HLCC Athletic Season is off to a great start!  Youth tennis and softball have had outstanding participation at each session.  Our coaches & coordinators have extensive knowledge and enthusiasm for their sports and they are outstanding communicators.

There are different activities each day of the week for all ages from small children to adults.  The season officially started June 27th and will continue into August.

CLICK HERE for the schedule of all activities. You can also find it in the Newsette, so come join the fun. There is a registration and permission form to be completed for all participants and can be FOUND HERE.  Help to spread the word by informing other community members that may not know about the extensive athletic program we have here in Highland Lakes!

There are a few updates regarding the end of this week.  There will not be any youth activities on Thursday June 30th or Friday July 1st, except for Thursday Boys Softball Grasshopper League @ 6 pm ages 9-11.

*Women’s Volleyball will also be cancelled on Thursday 6/30
*Adult Wood Bat Softball will be postponed until Sunday July 10th

If you did not receive the original welcome email, my name is Pete Jablonski and I am your new Athletic Director.  I have personally been involved in HL Athletics since I was a Wasp playing softball at field 1 in the shadow of the Seckler & Shepherd building.  I was on the swim team for many years.  I also volunteered and played HL basketball.

I just finished my 13th year as a 6th grade Earth Science Teacher.  I have coached middle school boys’, high school girls’, and junior college mens’ basketball throughout my career in education.  I was a lifeguard, assistant water safety director, and water safety director for Highland Lakes in the 2000’s.  I have been a part of this community my whole life, and I am excited to start the athletic season.  My goal for this season is to increase participation and gain volunteers.

The schedule for all athletic activities has been posted in the Newsette, on the HLCC website, and social media accounts.  Please refer to the schedule for times and locations of activities.  Additionally, cancellations due to inclement weather will be communicated through the club’s website.

If you are interested in volunteering please email me directly at athleticdirector@hlcc.org

Thank you to all coordinators and coaches that have hit the ground running.  Looking forward to a great season will additional participants.

See you out there!

Pete Jablonski
Highland Lakes Athletic Director
