Join Conservation Club of Highland Lakes (CCHL)!

If you care care deeply about the present and future of our local environment and the need for us to help protect it, then joining the CCHL may just be the thing for you.

CCHL Mission: To inspire, encourage, and assist HLCC and CA members to become active stewards of our local ecosystems.

Who are we? HL members who volunteer our time and talents to support our mission. We are individuals and teams on the constant lookout for compromising environmental situations which may require human intervention and mitigation. We attempt to include all club members who are willing and able to participate.

Why are we doing this?

We care deeply about the present and future of our local environment and the need for us to help protect it.

What are we doing?

– Identifying and mitigating the negative impact of invasive species (aka removing dangerous plants).

– Maintaining a rain garden which reduces storm runoff at the clubhouse parking lot.

– Improving conditions for pollinators by providing the appropriate native plants for their continued survival.

– Reducing soil and silt erosion due to storm water runoff at club freeways.

– Building and improving hiking trails on forest lands owned by the club – Providing signage to identify club properties.

– Adding viewing benches which provide unobstructed views of our lakes.

– Adding signage to remind our members and their guests of appropriate environmental behavior.

– Preparing articles for HL Publications pertaining to our environment and work activities.

– Coordinating with HL maintenance staff for support with various environmental projects.

– Acquiring and maintaining tools for our hands on projects.
