Boys Softball
Boys Farm Team (ages 4-5)
This league, which meets on Monday mornings at 9 am at the back of Field #1 at Beach 1, is designed for ages 4-5. Boys younger than 4 years old are not allowed to participate. Soft, sponge-rubber balls are used, and the objective is to introduce the children to the basics of the game, including how to hold and swing the bat, stand at the plate, run the bases, and throw the ball. Game fundamentals are also introduced, and a short game is held at the end of each session.
Boys Mosquito (ages 6-8)
This league meets on Monday and Tuesday mornings at 9 am on Field #1 at Beach 1. The objective is to learn the rules of the game, the purpose of each field position, and to practice the basics that were first introduced in the Farm Team. This league uses a rotating schedule; one team practices while the other plays a game. Players from each team pitch, and there is a 5 run-per-inning limit. Volunteer umpires needed (ages 14 and older).
Boys Grasshopper (ages 9-11)
This league plays games on Thursday evenings at 6 pm at on Field #1 at Beach 1. Coaches are responsible for scheduling practices.
Boys Little League (ages 12-16)
Some of the most exciting games in the community happen on Friday evenings at 6 pm on Field #2 at Canistear Park as the Comanches, Mohicans, and Choctaws battle each other. Players who turn 17 before July 1 are not permitted to play in the Little League.
Boys Babe Ruth (ages 17 and older)
Older teens and young adults meet on Sundays evenings at 6 pm on Field #2 at Canistear Park for fun but competitive games.
