Jogathon/Walkathon

The Highland Lakes Annual Jogathon started in 1978 as an outgrowth of the enjoyment a father got from jogging with his daughter, who was training for the Vernon Township Cross-Country Team. Nancy Henninger and her team went on to an undefeated season that year and her father, Frank, went on to establish the Annual Jogathon.

It’s a fun event with members of all ages and abilities as well as families participating. There are no entry fees or prizes – just a good time. Most people jog, some run, and a lot walk the pleasant 4.5 miles around the Main Lake.

Many Club members participate each year and the frozen orange juice brought by each person is turned into “Jogger’s Juice” to be enjoyed by all after completing the well-run event.

The Jogathon/Walkathon usually takes place on the last Saturday of August at 10:00 am starting at the Clubhouse. For more information, contact Frank Henninger at 973-764-3363.
