Communications Committee
Chairperson: Tom Dolle, 973-764-2083 (weekends) / 917-902-4252 (days)
The Communications Committee has an advisory role and is also actively engaged in producing content for all of the Club’s authorized communication channels.
The committee is expected to advise the board of new technology that could be used by the Club to enhance production efficiencies and improve communication with members. All decisions regarding the implementation of these recommendations rest with the board.
Activities with which the committee is involved include:
- Newsette production as it pertains to setting of an editorial schedule; enforcement of existing editorial guidelines; writing content for the feature article in each issue of the Newsette; and the final editing (in conjunction with Club staff) of each issue before it goes to press. The Club office is responsible for the actual production of the Newsette.
- Club website content, graphic design and publication – committee members will frequently post articles for consideration for publication (Club manager is the only person who publishes the articles); committee members will create graphic designs for consideration; committee members will redesign the website to incorporate new functionality which will then be subject to board review. Changes to the website that are purely organizational or presentational in nature do not require board approval.
- Social media – the use of social media such as Facebook will be managed by this committee as authorized by the board.
- Production of other communication pieces as determined by the board – the committee will work with other committees to produce educational/informative communications as authorized by the board.
