 WEED HARVESTER Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why did the Club purchase a weed harvester?

The Club purchased a weed harvester for few different reasons. The harvester will cut and remove weeds to clean up areas such as beaches, swim lanes, boat docks and bridge approaches. Theses are all of the areas dedicated to community recreation. But the most important reason is to continue the overall lake management plan, to control and lower phosphorus levels in all of the lakes. Lastly, it will help scoop floating algae, weeds, control lily pads and cattails.

2. Is this the machine we purchased?

No it is not. Each harvester machine is custom built by the manufacturer. Our harvester will take 10 months to build and is expected to be delivered in late 2025. The manufacturer loaned us the machine we currently have, at no charge. This allows us to train operators, develop schedules and gain valuable experience.

3. Will the weed harvester operate on all of the lakes?

Ultimately, yes. Fortunately, Lakes 1 and 5 do not generally have the same issues with weeds as Lakes 2,3 and 4. Our overall goal is to be up, running and well trained by spring 2026. We will continue to harvest through the fall.
